Las Lenas Update

September 19th, 2007 · 1 Comment

“3 trucks are on the move all day bringing in snow from down the valley, keeping the main runs and trails alive… getting bare down low, word still is the end of the month. Still plenty of snow up high but with high winds the Marte was closed today, and with stronger winds forecast tomorrow the outlook is bleak.”

sorry to hear - we were at LL mid -late august just after the big storm and during one of the smaller ones (followed by snow scrapping wind).

the bump run was perfect, but off piste was hard if the sun was not right.

6 cat ski runs were a trip, though there was no pow fluff - breakable crust was the word of the day.

guess i can stop dreaming of heading down again the end of the month - with mt. hood closed due to low snowpack (it melted too much during the high temps in august) there’s not much else to do except hop on the skiers edge machine.

ah well, 48 more weeks until SA again!

    hasta la vista.
