After 40 hours of traveling I have arrived in Santiago, Chile. My first impressions of the city are that it is very European in feel, a little dirty and very smoggy. The Spanish influence is everywhere you look but with a strong chill in the air it feels more like Montréal then any Spanish city I have been to. The snow is yet to start falling and many of the South American weather experts are calling for a dry season. Lets hope they are very wrong. Most of the major South American ski resorts are set to open this Saturday, June 16th but if they don’t get snow soon there won’t be much skiing. So keep checking back in for our first ski report from South America.
